Akhenaten Meets Moses; The History of the West as we know it...

I'm not sure if others have mentioned this on this site, but the reality is that Akhenaten is the father of all Judeo-Christian belief systems (or so I believe). Akhenaten is, perhaps, the father of monotheism as we know it (though there were minorities in Egypt worshipping mainly specific gods/goddesses/archetypes). I believe he was the main inspiration for that man we now call Moses, the Law-bringer (who probably did exist in one form or another). His behavior as Pharaoh is also indicative of a certain degree of bipolarism (in both the positive and negative sense). I believe he was a truly progressive ruler, but it shouldn't be ignored that he was also something of a tyrant, imposing his reform in a rather brutal fashion I'm sure. I believe he was a hyper-intelligent, radical, progressive reformer, and that if he were reincarnated today he would be deeply impressed by science and art, and deeply dismayed at what the religious world has become. To me, Atenism does not mean worshipping Ahkenaten, but respecting him. For me, it does not mean merely worshipping the Sun, but worshipping the Sun, the Universe, Energy, and Matter. I believe Akhenaten would be extremely impressed by Einstein's theory of relativity, and what it boils down to (Energy=Matter). In this day and age, no man or woman should be worshipped, but we can worship as they worshipped. The Sun, for instance, absolutely deserves to be worshipped. I should also point out that I do not believe that "the material world is darkness". This is, I believe, a somewhat archaic and short-sighted belief. Light and Dark are One. Modern Western religion is a system of control based on Sun Worship, where Jesus takes the place of the Sun, and the prophets are often preaching astrological metaphors (though their words may have been twisted). I understand what I'm saying should be considered a variation on Atenism, but this is the Atenism I am discovering for myself. Remember, people of western faiths say "Amen" after prayer, Jews (which I am... nonpractising) say Adonai (meaning God), which I believe comes from Aten-Aton-Adon-Adonai. And of course, the Sun "Sets". Our culture is rooted in Egypt in ways we can never fully understand. The pursuit of this knowledge with Akhenaten and the Aten as the focal points can be extremely rewarding... even enlightening. For the record, the two historical figures that I hold close to my heart are Akhenaten and Julian The Apostate (my title).
