hi I'm new here.

I used to follow Atenism when I was younger and loved it. I have not felt any spiritual connection to anything ever since I decided to give it up. I don't really remember why I moved away from it.

I just know that I didnt feel any spiritual happines with other faiths that I practiced later on. I came on here not only to participate on the forum but also to re-dedicate myself to Aten and Akhenaten.

thanks for having a forum like this for Atenists to come together! It's what inspired me to want to be spiritual again. I didnt belong to an Atenist community back in the day so maybe I felt alone in my faith and thats why I gave it up. I havent made my last prayer to the Aten since i was 19, its been almost 8 years since then! ;)

Yes there are many in the world that find Atenism, but there is not a community of fellow worshipers to share in the faith and so people tend to give up and say it's not real or possible that Atenism is the true faith since if it were the truth many would embrace it and come together. Well, there are perhaps without exaggeration, many thousands of people in the world who have heard the word 'Atenism' and have embraced it alone for a time then moved onto other religions or just lost the faith and moved on with the worries of life. I sometimes feel that way alone in the faith, knowing there are others in the world like I found on this site but will never meet them. The part that's missing is for me is I am alone...I wish I lived in a community where there were let's says a few hundred Atenists in which we could meet on a daily or weekly basis in a temple or just have Atenists as friends or maybe finding my soul mate who is an Atenist. I would so love that life, but unfortunately I am living in a community in which no one that I ever meet has even heard of the name of Akhenaten let alone the word 'Atenism'. Maybe we should plan to get together one day and meet somewhere for a vacation retreat, let's say to Amarna in Egypt and formalize our ties to make that meeting the beginning of something greater. Posting online is fine and I thank Meryre for his site, but we need as individuals to spread the word and we need to meet. I read somewhere on this site if I am not mistaken if we could find a famous celebrity who could become an Atenist and use there position to further Atenism exposure to the world that would certainly be great. I would love that we meet someday which would be great.

well this time around I dont want to give my spirituality up just because i feel alone in it....

I want to be an Atenist because it feels right to me.

My core beliefs of Atenism as it exists today are:

I believe heart and soul that Aten is a Benevolent Creator for everyone and that Akhenaten is still leading people like you and me to Aten, through his spirit.

I believe the Sun, is a physical representation of Aten in our world and that through its creative and enriching power we come to know about our Creator. our Solar worship is the celebration of Aten's eternal energies that sustain all life and nature.

I believe All who give their hearts to Aten are destined to return to Him in the heavenly Amarna with Akhenaten and Nefertiti, our eternal king and queen who were always good loving leaders to the people, not like the earthly leaders we have now.

I think that's why Amarna was set up here on earth, it was like the earthly form of the heavenly paradise, where the fortresses of Amarna are forever standing tall. The Creator advised the king to build the holy city as a representation of what the afterlife with Aten is like. And for all who lived there it really was a paradise on earth!

I believe our Atenist communities should be very important to us too...I'd love to meet you oneday Osarsiph!!! what part of the world are you in? we shouldnt have to feel alone in our faith :)
