I recently found that someone had posted the 1973 version of the movie Lost Horizon to YouTube, which was based on a book of the same name. I rather like the ideas behind it, and I think most people would. The characters are taken to Shangri-La, which I'm sure many of heard of from modern myth. A place of peace and reflection where we can take the time to know ourselves and the Divine. Most importantly, a place where we can find inner peace without the worries of the world weighing us down. I think many people search for such a place, whether they know it or not. What I do not think most realize is that we can create that here and now. Whether that is finding like minded individuals and creating such a community, or simply creating an area of peace, quiet, and contemplation in our homes. The second is something we can do, and I think most should do. Everyone needs a little time to just sit and be, where we can connect with Aten and know the peace and love that exists with such a connection. |

Just as a side note as I just really think this is an interesting coincidence, but I noticed the title sequence was sung by Shawn Phillips. This is interesting because he is my name sake, and I didn't know this when I first found the film. An example of coincidences that appear to be more than simple happenstance. |
