Dear Friends in Aten, I notice there are about 25 members registered on this forum. I would request everyone to post some of their ideas related to Atenism. Maybe some of the registered members are no longer with us. Even so, whoever is left I want you to know that Atenism is not a dead religion as many think, including many Egyptologists. If you can, help spread the word of Atenism to your friends and family. That being said, I have a good feeling about Atenism being restored as a living faith. May Aten Bless You All, Meryre |

As long as there is someone here getting the word out and trying to find those who are interested, Atenism will grow again and spread. |

I am going to constantly update the Akhetaten Fellowship blog on a regular basis from now on. I know some people who may be interested in Atenism and I am going to encourage them to join this forum and create some activity here. I also have a plan, just give it time to work. |

I need to know what your plan is. I do not doubt your abilities, I just need information to work on. Without that info I will continue my own work. |

Em Hotep Astennu, My plan is not just a single strategy. Obviously most people have never heard of the word 'Atenism'. That is the keyword that I have been focusing on in the search engines. Akhenaten is also a name most people never heard of either. BUT most people have heard of Tutankhamun for example. I just realized that to reach out to the masses on the Internet, my blog and message board has to be more than just about Atenism and Akhenaten. I know how to get search engines to put a website on top of their search listings. Even so, It's more difficult to do that when we are talking about millions of websites dedicated to King Tut. I am going to throw a wide net across the worldwide web to include the most popular searches for anything to do with Ancient Egypt and It's religions, finding out the most popular keywords and work with that. Again with millions of searches it's difficult to put one's site in first or second place in a search listing. If you want we can work together for a common cause in Atenism. When can place links to one another's sites so as to increase some probability that we move up in searches because google for example measures how many websites have put links to your site. The more others place a link on their webpage to your site, the more popular you are seen by the googlebot and the higher the rank you are given. That's only one aspect of getting a higher rank. Another is how many keywords like for example 'Tut' are on your site. Or how many webpages you have on your site that include many of those keywords you want people to search for. It's complicated in a way since google does not give any info on exactly how they rank a site, but I think I have a good idea how they rank sites. Again if you want to join forces for the cause I would be very willing to connect sites so to speak by putting links on each of our sites and promote each of our sites. Maybe even creating an Atenist League website with links even to other's websites dedicated to Atenism and maybe instead of Atenists being divided with their own efforts to bring Atenism to the world we can unite. That would mean contacting the webmasters of other websites who we feel are worthy and linking all our sites together, perhaps using an Atenist League website and also linking one anothers pages together to create a wide net of Atenist sites. May Aten Bless, Meryre Edited by Meryre, Feb 13 2009, 02:36 PM.

First, I think my last post sounded a little negative and I want to apologize for that. I was tired and had been sick for two days, and I think I let a little of that seap into the post. I would really love to work together! I know from experience how much effort is wasted if two people are doing the same thing, but could be working together. Even if we do not agree on specifics, we do agree on Aten and getting the word out there. I also think a league of some sort to be a great idea, more can be accomplished by working together than by working against each other. It wastes effort and it looks bad. As for google, I spent a good hour looking over the webmaster section so I get what you are saying. This is why I like to work with people, someone else can catch something I have either missed or haven't thought of yet (and vice versa). |

Yes we should work together somehow. If you have any thoughts or ideas on how we should proceed just let me know. I would also welcome all visitors to join us as well if you have an Atenist website or are thinking of one. |

The only Atenist websites I know of at this moment are yours, mine, Jonathans old one (which is I was surprised to see still online), and the Temple of Aten website. I ran across a website claiming to be channeling Akhenaten and Nefertiti a while back, but that website (and I'm not trying to be judgmental here, just my opinion) was a little out there. I also can't remember the title or address. Right now I would say we will probably just be in the planning stages for an Atenist league of any sort, and will have to mainly work on finding ways to get more people aware of Atenism. My focus is mainly on religious sites (or those mentioning Kemetism) that I think might gain the attention of someone who may be interested or just help spread the word among the spiritually oriented, and your focus will draw in a larger crowd. Also, just to let you know, I don't have internet at home right now so I'm going to the library or Wi-Fi hot spots. I will be able to get online during the mornings on most days of the week, but it is hard for me to do that on the weekend with my work schedule. |

I was just looking over the stats for my site, and I am pleasantly surprised. A lot of visitors come from the US, but I have had a good number from South America, Europe, and Canada. I also hope that bit I added to Wikipedia is helping Atenism.org as much as my site, as most of my visitors are coming from there. (I get a few from here, a few from witchvox, and one or two from some very odd places as well). |
