What if we held a new Sed festival? I live in Nashville, TN and we could hold an event in Centennial Park.

If we could get enough people together that would be fine but since Atenists are spread across the globe and I don't know if it could be done anytime soon. Maybe we should hold a new Sed Festival in Egypt if we could get enough people together, perhaps that would make it on the news. Question would have to be asked, who would we choose to be Pharaoh?

Who says you have to have a Pharaoh? Maybe someone chosen as High Priest for the day could hold the position?

Could we not have a Pharaoh again anyway, regardless of Sed festival or not? Would it not be about time? I'd be interested to know how other Atenists feel about this matter but I would just love it if we could finally have a Pharaoh again.

YES! God has a plan for this world. I see a return to Pharaonic rule as an essential part of God's plan. With the worldwide revival of Atenism will come a leader who is a true believer and will become Pharaoh. An Atenist Pharaoh is essentially the intermediary between God and humanity; although I must stress that Aten answers our prayers regardless of who is in power. Pharaoh takes care of temporal power and Aten of spiritual power. They unite as One if the Pharaoh is a true believer to the cause. Thus just like in ancient times, when the Atenist Pharaoh comes to power, we can send our prayers to Pharaoh who is the physical presence of God on Earth. Now, how that will work itself out, only God knows. I know God has a plan for this world and I know everything will fall into place in due time. In the meantime send your prayers to Aten and ask for understanding in this matter and the truth will be known to you.

I'm close to organizing a small scale festival event here in the next few months at a club downtown. I'm getting booklets printed with some Atenism articles, bio of Akhenaten, the hymns to distribute there and other clubs and music stores. This web address will be at the bottom of the page. I'll have a couple radio spots to advertise with and hopefully I'll get a chance to appear on the Tennessee Mornings tv news show. I'll be wearing an Ankh necklace and maybe the host will ask me about it (or I could tell him to ask me about it during the rehearsal) - If they ask why I'm doing this (live music marathon) maybe I could say something like one of the reasons I'm doing this "is devotion to the Aten, and dedicated to Akhenaten"...something like that, just a bit of promotion...maybe a few will be interested. My music marathon will cover this history of music, from the medieval Greensleeves, to the early folk music of the 1920's, blues of the 1950's, and classic rock from the early 60's to the late 70's.

Can we have TV/radio coverage of this Sed festival in the UK please... I can't help wondering though why it's a "Sed" festival as that was a term used for a ceremony held every 30 to 32 years in a Pharaoh's reign in order for Pharaoh to regain strength for His demanding role as spiritual leader.
